GUILLEN PROMOTES DENTAL HEALTH OPPORTUNITY FOR TX VETS
Veterans Get Teeth Cleaned For Free On June 9th

AUSTIN - Representative Ryan Guillen (D - Rural South Texas) urges veterans within his district to take advantage of an upcoming opportunity; Aspen Dental is hosting a National Day of Service on June 9th across Texas offering veterans a free dental cleaning and exam.

"We are fortunate that so many Americans and fellow Texans have fought to keep the rest of us safe and free," said Guillen. "It's our duty to honor their service by providing for them and their families."

Aspen Dental has strived to treat the urgent needs of veterans who are suffering from dental pain, which includes fillings, extractions, and basic denture repair for no charge. In 2014, they launched the Healthy Mouth Movement campaign which seeks to reduce accessibility and affordability barriers to dental care especially for veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs currently does not provide dental care benefits to all eligible veterans, and Aspen Dental has stepped up to provide care to over 17,000 veterans and people in need.

Representative Guillen has worked hard to provide assistance to veterans. Last year, Guillen passed legislation to improve mental health treatment for veterans and direct more money to those treatments.

"I am always excited to help those who are helping our most honored and cherished Texans," said Guillen. " If you know a veteran in your community, tell them about this program or help them schedule an appointment. All of us have an obligation to serve those who have served us."

To schedule an appointment, please call 1-844-277-3646. There are several participating locations in San Antonio.

Serving ten rural South Texas counties in the Texas House of Representatives, Ryan Guillen is known for his hard work, fierce independence, and relentless efforts for South Texas families. Recently, Capitol Inside called him a “House Bill Machine,” and a “one-person assembly line for legislation.” Since elected, few other legislators have passed more bills than Guillen.
