GUILLEN URGES DISTRICT RESIDENTS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER SERVICES
The Spay-Neuter Assistance Program Will Be At The Lytle Animal Care And Control Facility On June 12 And 19
AUSTIN - Texas State Representative Ryan Guillen (D-Rural South Texas) is pleased to announce that the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) is bringing its mobile services to Atascosa County at the Lytle Animal Care and Control facility, and encourages pet owners to take advantage of these affordable services.
"Only through programs like SNAP can we effectively deal with pet overpopulation in South Texas," Guillen said. "SNAP helps prevent pet homelessness and reduces the need for kill shelters."
Pet overpopulation has become increasingly problematic in South Texas. SNAP helps reduce this by providing low cost spay and neuter services to communities. To ensure pet owners have access to services, SNAP lowers its fees for people receiving public assistance. SNAP also provides vaccinations, wellness screenings and microchipping. SNAP's visit to Lytle allows residents of surrounding communities to access local affordable pet services.
"Anyone who has not yet had their pet spayed or neutered should think strongly about taking advantage of SNAP while it is in town," Guillen said.
