GUILLEN DISCUSSES DISASTER RECOVERY WITH BUSH

Encourages Residents To Contact Him With Any Concerns

Austin - Following a year which saw South Texas inundated by Hurricane Harvey and the devastating floods last week, Representative Ryan Guillen (D - Rural South Texas) attended a productive meeting with Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush to discuss an action plan for those affected.

"Just as our community was recovering from Hurricane Harvey, we were dealt another blow," said Guillen, "Ensuring we recover from June's flooding is at the forefront of my priorities."

Commissioner Bush visited the Rio Grande Valley on June 27th to assess the damages from the recent flooding. As the head of the Texas General Land Office, he oversees the efforts to help Texans recover from natural disasters, providing both short and long-term housing for those displaced.

Representative Guillen is committed to ensuring Texans are adequately equipped to recover from natural disasters. Guillen encourages the people of House District 31 to contact his office at (512) 463-0416 if he can be of any help in their recovery efforts.

"South Texans are the strongest people imaginable." added Guillen. "Together, we will rebuild."

Serving ten rural South Texas counties in the Texas House of Representatives, Ryan Guillen is known for his hard work, fierce independence, and relentless efforts for South Texas families. Recently, Capitol Inside called him a “House Bill Machine,” and a “one-person assembly line for legislation.” Since elected, few other legislators have passed more bills than Guillen.
